A daily prayer or sadhana is essential for spiritual development. Buddhist prayers do not invoke an outer god or deity for favours and assistance. Instead, the core purpose of a Buddhist sadhana is to help us discover our Buddha potential within.
When we engage in a regular sadhana, we are essentially developing a deeper relationship with the outer Buddhas and calling upon them to bring forth our innate Buddhanature. We are also reminding ourselves of the enlightened qualities that we inherently possess. In addition, we are fueling our spiritual path by invoking their blessings.
Yet, consistency in spirituality isn’t easy especially in this day and age where distractions are plentiful. Many of us struggle to be consistent with our daily prayers even though we know how important it is for our spiritual growth.
To help you cultivate a daily prayer habit, here are some practical tips.
