Visit the holy abode of Wisdom Buddha Manjushri
Wutaishan, or Five-Peaked Mountain, is high on the wishlist of many Buddhist pilgrims. Literally meaning “five flat-topped peaks” in Chinese, this world-famous sacred site is the earthly abode of Lord Manjushri, the Buddha of Wisdom.
It is home to over 50 sacred monasteries, including some of China’s most important. Coupled with its lush forests and picturesque landscapes, Wutaishan is truly a ‘Pure Land’ where nature and spirituality coexist harmoniously.
This mountain has been visited by three great Chinese emperors, namely Kangxi, Yongzheng and Qianlong. Emperor Kangxi, who was one of our founder His Eminence Tsem Rinpoche’s previous incarnations, visited Wu Tai Shan a total of six times, underscoring his deep reverence for the sacred mountain and his commitment to Buddhist practice.
Wutaishan is also one of Dorje Shugden’s holy abodes. When we engage in Dorje Shugden’s puja, this sacred mountain is one of the places from which we invoke the Protector’s presence and blessings.
Hence, for students of Tsem Rinpoche, Wutaishan is a place of profound personal connection and spiritual resonance. It is deeply intertwined with our spiritual path, our teacher, our protector, and the practices we hold dear. Coupled with the right motivation, a pilgrimage to this holy site will become an endless source of inspiration, blessings, and connection to this profound lineage of wisdom and compassion.
